Ceremonies

Please contact info@ctlatinochamber.com to schedule your ribbon-cutting ceremony.**

At the Chamber, we are happy to help you coordinate your Ribbon Cutting ceremony. Please keep the following in mind:

• Advanced notice: We recommend scheduling your Ribbon Cutting at least two weeks in advance, preferably longer, to ensure that the Chamber staff, City/Town Officials, and State Elected Officials can attend. It’s much easier for us to pick a week or month and then work with City/Town officials on a date, rather than you give us a concrete date and time because there are a lot of schedules we need to coordinate.
• Time: We schedule Ribbon Cuttings Monday-Friday between the hours of 9am-5pm This ensures that someone at the Chamber, as well as, Town/City officials can attend. The Chamber is not able to accommodate late night or weekend events.
• Coordinating with the Town/City: The Chamber will invite local Town/City and state elected officials to attend your ceremony.
• Supplies: The Chamber will bring ceremonial scissors and large ribbon for you to cut.
• Marketing & Promotion: The Chamber will take a professional photo at your ribbon cutting and send it to the local newspapers, share it on our Facebook Page and include it in the following Chamber member Newsletter.
• This is YOUR Event! Your ribbon cutting can be a simple photo opportunity or a grand event celebration. Whatever you choose to make it is completely up to you!

Preparing for your Ribbon Cutting:
• Think about who you would like to attend your Ribbon Cutting. You can keep it small or make it a big event. The Chamber will focus on local officials; anyone else you’d like to invite is up to you.
• If you choose to make this a grand event, think about your pre-event marketing. You may want to send a press release to local papers and be sure to share the event on social media (including creating a Facebook event), the homepage of your website, and email blasts.
• The best spot to cut the ribbon is in front of a sign, door or wall that has your company name or logo. This makes for a great photo opportunity.
• Think about who you would like to be in the photo with you. The business owner or manager will be the person who actually holds the scissors and cuts the ribbon. Chamber representatives, Town/City officials and any State Legislators in attendance should also be invited to join you.
• You may want to have a short speech prepared to say to your guests before or after you cut the ribbon.
• Some businesses like to provide refreshments and a tour for their guests. This is not a requirement, but it’s a nice touch.

Remember, the Central CT Latino Chamber of Commerce is here to help you along the way! Please reach out so we can ensure that your Ribbon Cutting goes off without a hitch!

**PLEASE NOTE: THE CHAMBER COORDINATES RIBBON CUTTINGS FOR OUR MEMBERS ONLY!
